DEER HOOF RATTLE
This rattle has multiple cleaned deer hooves strung to a wood stick that has been leather wrapped. This was a traditional musical instrument used for ceremonial dances. In some parts of California it used by women in their coming of age ceremony. Another variation offered simply has a few deer hooves hanging from a dogbane cord with the cord hung in the hand.
